I ordered this for a party that, in the event, it didn't arrive in time for (it arrived towards the end of the rather vague promised delivery window). Even had it arrived in time, though, I would likely not have used it without modifying it first. It's fairly obvious, but for the avoidance of doubt, this is a costume, not a garment, as such, and it's a fairly cheap costume at that. Unlike other costumes with a faux waistcoat, the waistcoat panels here are not removable, which means if you want to wear it (as I did) as an outer coat with a real waistcoat, you'll need to modify it first. At which point you'll run into the fact that there's not a scrap of spare material here - everything is a single layer of thin material; the "waistcoat" is kind of integral with the "lapels", and the latter are not stiffened, lined or backed. You could probably fold the waistcoat part back into the lapel and sew it in place to double the thickness, somehow, but it would be a fiddle. In other non-news, pockets are not pockets, obviously, and aside from the ones on the "waistcoat", none of the buttons have corresponding button holes. Overall, for fancy dress use where it will be seen at a distance and where you aren't planning to try to use it as an actual coat, it does the job, but it's kind of bare minimum. The size seems about right, but the cut is a bit weird so it looks a bit square and odd around the midriff rather than tailored. If you want something that is more convincing as a victorian frock or tail coat, as part of a more functional kind of steampunk outfit, I would spend a bit more and get an actual garment.
